Happy Friday, everyone! My weekend is off to a busy start already, I hope you all have a great one! Here is what has been going on in my world, tell me in the comments what is going on with you? Feel free to leave links!
Shameless Self Promotion
- I did an interview on Weightless, one of my favorite body image blogs, this week. I talk a little more about my personal story and some of my top intuitive eating tips. Part One and Part Two.
- I’m offering 10% off your entire purchase on my handmade jewelry website using the coupon code: honoringhealth along with free shipping to anyone in the US.
Blogs
- One of my favorite bloggers, Karen, wrote an awesome post about why we stopped trusting our bodies. It is a pretty moving post that also links to a fascinating post about calorie counting.
- Gena wrote a great article about the great agave debate which I whole heartedly support and agree with. Sugar is still sugar and while I don’t think anyone should be consuming it all day everyday, Agave is my preferred sweetener based on how my body reacts to it.
- Kendra wrote an amazing post with lots of tips on how to incorporate self care into your day to day life called A case of the blahs. A must read for sure.
- My secret girl crush (did I just type that?) wrote a wonderful post about sex and making it a priority which is a must read for anyone who struggles with intimacy.
- Danielle LaPorte, author of The Firestarter Sessions (which I highly recommend), wrote a highly inspirational post that is uplifting and worth sharing with everyone you know.
Books
- This week I read The Art of Extreme Self-Care
which has awesome tips on learning how to really take care of self. It explores every aspect of self care and has detailed exercises for each.
- I’m still working on the Paula Deen Memoir
and I am really hooked. I lover her more now than ever.
- In light of my new found daily yoga practice, I did a refresher course of 40 Days to Personal Revolution
. I am not following the 40 days but this book is highly inspirational for anyone who practices yoga and wants to dig deeper into themselves.
Recipes
- An oldie but goodie, Gena’s Banana Soft Serve has made an appearance or two in my house this week. So perfect for summer.
- Though it isn’t gluten free, this peach and blueberry cobbler recipe on SmittenKtichen got me drooling a few days ago.
- My buffalo tofu wings recipe made an appearance on Carrots N Cake this week.
All right, now it is your turn! What is going on with you?

“Intuitive Eating” probably helped save my life. It DEFINITELY helped give it back to me.
Now, I am living healthfully and joyfully. More specifically, I am studying abroad in Germany (aka, far from my comfort zone) and taking it all in one day at a time.
Emily Lou´s last blog ..I’m a ginger lover

I want to thank you for including my post! I am constantly amazed at how much I love social media for bringing together diverse bloggers, and learning to grow and challenge ourselves due to each persons area of expertise. Hugs!

On a day that I thought my feelings might destroy me, it feels so good to come here. And then to see that you’ve included me as a “favorite blogger.” <3 <3 <3

I don’t think I’ve had this many tabs open in my internet browser since I was planning my wedding!
So many new blogs to read!
I have some bananas rapidly going south–perfect excuse to try some banana soft serve.
Since I have some time on my hands, i’ve been thinking about self care, my lack of it, and how that relates to my IE journey.
Have a great weekend! (^_^)
