A couple of weeks ago, Ron from Nu Naturals emailed me to find out if I would like to do a review of their stevia products and I jumped at the chance. I use stevia almost everyday and I had heard that Nu Naturals was the best. Stevia is a great sugar substitute for those that can not eat sugar. It will not raise blood sugar levels and is safe for those trying to rid themselves of candida. They sent me quite a few products to try out

but since I have only ever used liquid stevia, I thought it best to start with something I am familiar with.

I made a big bowl of carrot cake oat bran with coconut butter glaze and a couple drops of the alcohol free vanilla stevia.

I used four drops of the stevia and there was no aftertaste that you can sometimes get with stevia and the vanilla flavor was nice. I must honestly say though, I couldn’t really tell the difference between it and the brand I usually use. With that said, I do plan to try out the other items they sent me because I am super excited to bake with stevia and their baking blend seems really interesting. So stay tuned, I will write another review once I have tried it!
Do you use stevia? Have you ever tried the Nu Naturals brand?

Lucky you! Yes, I do use (liquid) stevia, although not NuNaturals brand (I think it’s called Stevita and is made here in Dallas). I also use the TruVia packets for yogurt and stuff. I’ve used stevia for 5 years now because I used to avoid artificial sweeteners like splenda and equal because they were bad for upset tummies (now I use splenda occasionally with no problems).
I would love to try the vanilla one! Must go look for it now.

I don’t use artificial sweeteners like splenda anymore. They kind of scare me a little plus the number they do on my digestion is no good.
I use protein powders with Stevia and sometimes get that aftertaste…which I hate…ugh. When I gave up Splenda & was looking for a better alternative to sugar I did try Stevia in tea and cereal but I couldn’t get past the aftertaste. Now I don’t take sugar in either of those and generally just use maple syrup or honey if I require a general bit of sweetness and I still use sugar (in varying forms) in baking.
Interesting to hear you say there is no aftertaste with the NuNaturals brand…

As I mentioned in the post, it did not have an aftertaste but the brand I usually doesn’t either. I have found that if I use too much is what leads to an aftertaste.
I do use stevia sometimes, but I’ve never tried it in liquid form. I’ll have to check it out because I definitely notice the aftertaste that you mentioned…

Try the liquid for sure just be sure not to use too much, that is what seems to lead to aftertaste, at least for me.
I do use Stevia, but I’ve never used a liquid form. I should try it, though. I have heard lots of good things about Nu Naturals, too!
i’ve never tried Stevia before…just can’t bring myself to spend the money on it. i’m so cheap it’s kind of ridiculous!

Stevia is actually very cheap when you get down to it. The bottle I have of the brand I usually use cost me $12 and I have been using it most days for 4ish months now and have only put a tiny dent in it, it is still full past the top of the label. I imagine one bottle probably lasts a year or more.
i have never tried stevia, but i think i’m going to get some at the market. i typically use splenda or sweet and low.
