Goal Setting

Happy Monday, dear bloggies! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. Mine flew by and when I woke up this morning to the pitch black darkness, I surely didn’t want to get out of bed!  Alas, I did and with plenty of time to spare. I want to tell you all about some goals I’ve set for myself this week since I’ve decided that in some areas of my life, it will pay off to be goal oriented instead of process oriented. Being goal oriented is very yang (masculine) and being process oriented is very yin (feminine) and setting goals is one of the areas I have allowed my feminine to take over. To create some balance, I have a couple of goals that I think honor both. By setting goals, I’m honoring the yang but the goals themselves are very yin. My goals for this week are:

013

So, to start the week off with the variety, I plan to add a different veggie to my oat bran everyday. I tend to eat the same thing for breakfast and lunch every day so this is stepping out of my comfort zone. Of course, it really isn’t too different from my normal breakfast but changing the veggie part is enough for me. I also made two different things for lunch this week that I will post about as the week progresses.

015

My bowl contained:

  • gluten free oat bran
  • unsweetened vanilla rice milk
  • butternut squash
  • coconut oil
  • cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla stevia
  • flax seed

009

Now, if I am going to meet that 7:35 goal, I must go. Now!

What are your goals for the week?

  1. I love that you got me thinking about my goals for the week! Mine are to drink a lot of water, make sure I’m getting all of my veggies in for the day (since I barely ate any this past weekend!), stick to my running schedule, and take about 5 minutes per day to slow down and do some deep breathing exercises.

Those are great goals! My goals are:
-Make it to hot yoga once this week
    -Try one new recipe
    -Study for 1-2 hours daily
-Turn off the computer/tv by 10:00pm
I usually have very loose, feminine-type goals, so thanks for encouraging me to write them down!

I actually don’t think so. For me, binging is not about food unless I feel deprived of something. I honestly think the opposite it true, the more stuck in a food rut I feel, the more likely I am to overeat or makes choices that aren’t in line with what makes me feel best. Thankfully, I’ve resolved most of my issues that caused my binging and no longer really use binging as one of my coping skills. That isn’t to say it won’t happen again because I’m sure it will.

I have heard that automated meals do help people though. Each person is different and whatever works, I say do!

  8. Yum, butternut squash sounds good in oatmeal.
My goal for the week is to exercise 2/3 days of the week before flying home/going on vacation. Have to get it in before the end of the week and the fun starts ;)

My goals for the week are to get organized on my blog — update recipes and make some new recipes, and to get in 4 days of exercise between tonight and Friday!
