Oats in a Jar

This morning, I broke the rules of food combining,  decided against adding veggies to my breakfast and went for an old favorite.

Oats in a jar.

I haven’t had them in a really long time but knew as soon as I saw the almost empty jar last night what was planned for this morning. I don’t eat a lot of nut butter so I have to take these opportunities when I can.

My jar contained:

  • gluten free oats
  • unsweetened vanilla rice milk
  • coconut oil
  • cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla stevia
  • flax seed
  • raw almond butter

I’m not feeling all that great today so this jar of comfort really hit the spot.

We don’t have much on the agenda for this rainy Saturday though I do have an appointment with Gena this afternoon. Hopefully, I’ll be feeling a bit better by then. I’d really like to get to the grocery store today but my body is screaming for some rest so I am just going to take it as it comes.

Hope you all have a good day and stay tuned, I have an interesting post brewing about our feminine nature and sabotage.

What are you doing this weekend? Up to something fun?

I’m sorry you aren’t feeling well :( I hope your appointment will help. There’s nothing like a good breakfast to help start the day well, even if it strays a little :)

Feel better! I love comfort food when I am feeling under the weather. We are doing a bunch of errands this weekend, which is totally okay with me. We need a major cleaning overhaul here. Have a great weekend!

Hope you feel better! I slept 12 hours last night and feel like a new person today – I really needed that sleep. My little sister is coming to stay with us tonight so we’ll probably hang around the house chatting with her and maybe do something St. Patty’s Day related. No plans for tomorrow.

I’ve never tried OIAJ – I don’t really like nut butter on my oats, but I do like the idea of eating them out of a near empty jar.
