I did not want to get out of bed this morning; the weekend just went by way too fast! I slept a little too long and didn’t get done everything I needed to but I did have time for a hearty breakfast. I made a bowl of gluten free oat bran and decided to experiment with my toppings and add ins to see what keeps me satisfied and what doesn’t.

My bowl contained:
~gluten free oat bran
~unsweet vanilla almond milk
~ground flax seed
~coconut oil
~vanilla extract ( I use organic with no sugar)
~a healthy sprinkle of cinnamon
I have to say, I didn’t really miss the egg I ususally add in but I did miss the nut butter on top. I am trying to reduce my dependence on almonds since I have been using so much almond flour lately. I don’t want to develop a sensitivity to them which can easily happen if we consume too much of one food. Almonds are also mucous producing and with my sinus issues, I have to be careful in that department.
Anyway, I think it will be interesting to see how long this bowl lasts me.

Oatmeal with a banana, almonds and coconut seems to hold me over quite well! Yummy!
oh yum!
I have noticed that foods that are high in fiber and healthy fat keep me full longer. I can have a salad, as long as it has Avocado, Olive oil and some flax it keeps me full or pizza and I am hungry in a few min
Like Nutritious Foodie, high fiber foods and a little fat stick with me all day long!
