Bloggie Gratitude

There have been a number of ups and downs in my blogging career, I’ve been ridiculed and accused of being too negative. I’ve lost readers for merely standing up for myself and expressing the purpose of my blog and the need it fills in my life. I’ve even quit blogging from time to time when my needs changed only to come slinking back when I realized blogging is so important to my recovery.  Through all of that, an amazing thing has happened, I have made incredible connections that I am so thankful for. This blog has opened doors of communication with my online friends as well as the ones in my walking life. It has opened my eyes to the good in people and to the one need we all share, to be loved, understood and appreciated.

The post I wrote yesterday was challenging for me to write. I’ve totally melted down in the past on my blog, I’ve shared with you parts of me that I had never shared with anyone before, I’ve grieved, I’ve rejoiced, the range of emotion I have expressed here is broad and healing. But the post yesterday was different, it was full of anxiety and fear. I am so afraid of where this path is taking me. I’m afraid of my yoga practice and of putting all of this out there for the world to see. I don’t know where I’m going but what I do know is that I appreciate all of you so much. Thank you for your wonderful, supportive comments , your heartfelt emails and taking the time to g-chat with me when I really needed it (Meggie).

I know this blog is supposed to be a “food blog” but to me, it is so much more than that. Thank you all for sticking by me even when I’m not talking about the food. Thanks for coming to my corner of the internet and sharing a piece of you with me.

Awww Christie! I’ll be here ANYTIME you want to chat via gmails or otherwise!!! :D It is scary putting it all out there! By reading your blog, it has encouraged me to put more of myself and what’s going on in my life on my blog rather than it simply being about food. I think the blog becomes mroe substantial and a more enjoyable experience altogether and we glean more than by just writing what we ate that day!

Christie, I have been reading & loving your blog(s) for way longer than you know! (I hope that’s not creepy!) I have always felt like you are so real, open and honest.

Food blogs are interesting to me, but only when the person weaves in pieces of their life and interests. I definitely don’t think you should ever feel (not that you do) that you need to just write about food or your relationship with it.
