A Rock and a Hard Place

Oh, what a tangled web I weave here on the worldwide web. Not being a legal mumbo jumbo kind of girl, it never even crossed my mind that I couldn’t just leave Foodbuzz. Well, I can, but I would be in breach of my contract and that isn’t something I want to do. So, I’ve got some serious thinking to do. How can I honor my self and my contract? I’ve got a couple of ideas rolling around in my head that could be interesting that would satisfy both but I’m not sure how to logistically pull it off. I don’t want my writing to sound forced, I write from my heart and I don’t want to change that. I’ve done so much work to recover from ED and part of that was living as my authentic self. That is still a big struggle for me sometimes and I don’t want to put myself into triggering situations.

Today, I am headed to my yoga teacher training and hope that hours upon hours of yoga will clear my mind and help me come up with a firm game plan. As I mentioned before, I hadn’t planned on not writing about food but I also hadn’t planned on it being my primary focus anymore. I know for sure that I don’t want to photograph and write about everything I eat, that just dips into disordered territory (for me, others seem to handle it fine) but I also don’t have as much time on my hands for recipe writing. So, I need to come up with a way to incorporate whats going on with food as it relates to all the other things going on. I think that Heather does a nice job of this so I know it can be done. If you guys have any ideas, I would love to hear them.

For now, I am off to study raja yoga, twists and inversions. I know spending some time upside down will help me figure this thing out :)

how wonderful. it does sound like you are in just the right place. hours of yoga sounds incredibly real and powerful.

in my humble opinion — write what is right for you, and we all will “get” that the very most.

i believe that if we’re true to our souls, it works.

Hey! Thank you for the nice compliment. I’m sure you’ve noticed that I don’t write about everything I eat. Maybe while you are figuring out what you want to do with it you could pick one food thing to focus on ie. highlight all your dinners one week, or focus on all the ways you got fruit or veggies in your day for a week or something like that.

  3. How much ‘food’ do you have to write about with foodbuzz? I know Angela/Oh She Glows doesn’t consider her blog a food blog, but a healthy living blog, and posts about food + other things…
