Al at Country Bob’s sent me some samples of their All Purpose Sauce to Review on the blog. I had reviewed it a while back on my old food journal blog and told Al that I would be happy to review it again. I took the sauce with us on vacation so that my family and I could give it a try since my opinion was already biased. We decided to try the sauce on roasted chicken and everyone seemed to like the results. Everyone agreed that the sauce tasted like regular BBQ sauce with a nice sweet flavor. It complemented the chicken very well and we all really enjoyed it.
So, then, I came back from vacation, had to go gluten free and life got complicated. I wrote Al back and asked him if the sauce was gluten free and he made my day by confirming that it is in fact gluten free! Hoooray for Country Bob’s! Most BBQ sauce are not gluten free because of the liquid smoke so this was a nice surprise!
You can order the sauce online, the only downfall seems to be that you can only buy it in large quantities. In my area, it is only available at Walmart, which is not a company that I support, so after I run out of what I have, I probably will not buy it again. However, if it becomes available at different locations in my area or they begin to sell smaller quantities on the web, I would surely buy the sauce again and again.
