Homemade pecan butter isn’t something you will find in most stores but is easy and simple to make. All you need are some fresh pecans and a food processor and you are on your way to homemade pecan butter.

Homemade Pecan Butter
Makes a 16 ounce jar
1 lb raw pecans
1/4 tsp sea salt
Preheat the oven to 350*. Once the oven is hot, put the pecans on a baking sheet and roast them in the oven until they are fragrant, about 10 minutes. Be careful not to burn the nuts, they go from fragrant to burnt really fast. Remove the nuts from the oven and allow them to cool briefly. Add the nuts to the bowl of your food processor.Let the nuts process for about 5 minutes. In the first couple of minutes, you may want to scrape down the side with a spatula. One minute, you will think you are making flour and then all of a sudden, you will have fresh nut butter. Once it is the texture you want, pour it into a clean jar and store in the refrigerator.
