We woke up in beautiful Dublin, VA yesterday ready to explore. Before heading out, we had a quick breakfast in the hotel. We had bowls of Kashi Go Lean with milk

hard boiled egg

and grapes. A simple and filling breakfast to get us out into the world.

After some antiquing, we had lunch. We were in a charming little shopping center that had all sorts of fabulous places to eat. We decided on sushi at Sake House. First up was miso soup

and ginger salad

followed by three rolls. We ordered the Crab roll wrapped in cucumber, the firecracker roll and the “bomb” roll. I really enjoyed the bomb and let the DH finish the rest.

After lunch, we made a stop at the ever anticipated Chocolate Spike. We bought a number of truffles and chocolates but knew we had to have one right away so we shared the coconut fudge truffle. It did not dissapoint, it was creamy and rich with a lovely coconut flavor. I can’t wait to try the others!

Once our sweet tooth was cured, we headed to Max Meadows, VA to visit the West Wind Farms Vineyard and Winery. For our very special dinner plans, we were charged with bringing the wine and wanted to bring something special and knew there was no better way than something local.

The winery was gorgeous

with rolling hills

and a sweet little gift shop.

All of the wines that I tried were lovely and I was excited to share with our dinner dates! But first, we stopped into our hotel to freshen up and have a snack. I had a handful of wasai wow + chocolate chips to tide me over.

Then we headed to Brandi’s house!! Hooray! What a long time coming this trip had been. We had been planning it since the last time we met and boy, was it ever worth the wait! Nick, Brandi’s husband grilled bison burgers, sweet potatoes and zucchini along with a chicken sausage that I shared with the DH.

And of course, we had a glass of wine!

We sat on there deck and chatted for a couple of hours and had so much fun. I sure wish we lived closer to one another!!! But, not to fret, we have more fun in store while we are here!! Stay tuned to see all the other fun adventures we have planned!
