Super Fun Day!

I had a great day yesterday, it was loaded with all the right things. Yoga, good food, good friends and sunshine! I started out with a light breakfast because I had yoga at 8:30 and I didn’t want my stomach to be full when I got there. I had a bowl of Trader Joe’s High Fiber Cereal topped with a banana and milk. It was kind of bland, I think I prefer this cereal mixed with others rather than on it’s own.

I was really looking forward to yoga though I was a little nervous because my knees have been really hurting all week and I didn’t want to make them worse. I advised the teacher that my knees had been hurting and she really helped me in poses that can risk injury to the knee. One tip I really appreciated was during pigeon, which is normally one of my favorites, she rolled up a blanket to the size a washcloth would be and put it in between my bent knee. We stayed in pigeon for a few minutes and there is no way my knees would have survived otherwise. Overall, I enjoyed the class though we didn’t do any inversions at the end.

After yoga, I came home to get ready for my big day. My friend Beth was coming to spend the day with me and we had a hot date for lunch :) After I finished primping, I read and commented on as many blogs as I could until she arrived. While I was reading, the dear husband went out and picked up lattes. For me, he got a grande 2 pump vanilla, my favorite!

Once my friend arrived, we chatted for a bit and then made our way to Carytown. The weather was gorgeous and it seemed like everyone that lives in Richmond was there enjoying the day. Our first stop was Ginger Thai where we met Brittany from Eating Bird Food. Brittany is the cutest little thing you have ever seen, I swear! We started chatting right away but we did stop long enough to order. The dear husband and I shared an order of shrimp spring rolls

and for my entree, I got my usual drunken noodles.

The food was great, as always, and the conversation was fun. It was cool to talk about blogging and to get to know each other better. I hope that we can get together again soon!

After we parted ways with Brittany, we headed over to For the Love of Chocolate for some truffles. I got this cute little rocking horse that tasted like a rich caramely chocolate. It was the perfect way to top off my spicy lunch.

We browsed around Carytown for a bit and then headed back home. For dinner, I made spinach and mushroom stuffed shells to submit for this weeks BSI contest being hosted by Spiceaholic at One Bite at a Time.

On the side, I made collard greens sauteed in olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic, onion, crushed red pepper, nutmeg and cider vinegar. I added the vinegar at Beth’s suggestions and it was delicious!

After dinner, my dear friend went home and got ready for bed. I first had a bowl of cocoa pebbles and then settled in with the tv.

I tried to fall asleep earlier than usual to adjust for the time change but it didn’t happen. Though I adore daylight savings time because it eases my seasonal affective disorder, it is a hard adjustment when it comes to resetting my sleeping schedule.

Question: Do you like daylight savings time? Is it a hard adjustment for your bodies internal clock?

I HATE daylight savings time – I slept poorly last night for the time in AGES.

It sounds like you had a fabulous day yesterday! It’s always great to spend time with friends.

Thanks for the shout-out! :)

And to answer your question, I hate daylight savings time at first, because I lose a precious hour of sleep in the middle of tax season. But after a couple weeks I adjust and it is nice to have more daylight.

What a fun day. I love those noodles! I do like Daylight Savings Time, but I used to hate it. I still don’t like today because it confuses me so much! I’m sure I will be up too late.
